The work is part of a period of prestigious international awards for the artist and various experiments on materials and technical procedures.
In 1960 at the XXX Venice Biennale he obtained the Grand Prize for painting conferred unanimously by a jury made up of seven internationally renowned scholars including Herbert Read, Giulio Carlo Argan, Vicente Aguilera Cerni, Werner Haftmann and Jean Leymarie.
In the same year, after a stay in London, he began his collaboration with Luigi Nono, author of the first electronic composition with the significant title Omaggio a Emilio Vedova, which is accompanied by the creation of sketches, drawings, sets and costumes for the opera Intolleranza ’60 by the same musical composer, centered on multiple moving projections: painted plates are placed in synchrony with the sound, light sources and projectors variously located in the space.
