TEX & YOUNG TALENTS 4TET

Luigi Tessarollo, guitar
Mattia Basilico, saxophone
Alessandro Rosin, bass
Francesco Parodi, drums

The Tex & Young Talents Quartet is an original project created by guitarist and composer Luigi Tessarollo, one of Italy's leading jazz musicians and Professor of Jazz Guitar at the Turin Conservatory.

The project is built on a simple belief: jazz thrives and evolves through the dialogue between generations. Alongside Tessarollo perform three remarkable young musicians from the Turin jazz scene, artists who have already distinguished themselves through their musical maturity, individuality, and expressive talent.

The quartet brings together the wisdom of a lifetime devoted to jazz with the creativity and energy of a new generation. The repertoire features mainly Tessarollo's original compositions, complemented by jazz standards and classics reinterpreted through a contemporary lens. The result is a rich and varied program, ranging from swing to modern jazz, from lyrical ballads to more adventurous compositions, always placing musical interplay and storytelling at its heart.

A note on the use of expansive language

For a project like Flashback - by its very nature and poetics attentive to what lies at the margins, and to those other places, physical and mental, so often overlooked - language is a powerful means of contributing to change and a necessary instrument for observing the present.

This attention runs through everything we publish: in our publications and in our materials both online and offline. Here the reader will encounter a particular linguistic marker, the schwa (É™), which in Italian serves to limit the use of the generic masculine in favour of a broader, more open form of expression.
