Flashback Talk

Meetings and reflections

2026_IMG NWSL_REARVIEWMIRROR.jpg

In 2026, Flashback will once again organise meetings with figures from the art world to initiate a shared dialogue focused on relationships and the exchange of ideas, knowledge, and points of view among the participants, based on their experience and expertise in their respective fields.

From February to April, the series of meetings

REARVIEWMIRROR art, criticism, market

conceived and curated by Christian Caliandro and supported by Flashback, will aim to outline a collective reflection on the increasingly intertwined and mutually influential dimensions of contemporary art, criticism and the market.

The conversations are intended for an audience of art specialists, including artists, curators, critics, gallery owners, collectors, journalists and educators, as well as enthusiasts interested in understanding the current state of the art system, the reasons behind major ongoing transformations and future scenarios.

A note on the use of expansive language

For a project like Flashback - by its very nature and poetics attentive to what lies at the margins, and to those other places, physical and mental, so often overlooked - language is a powerful means of contributing to change and a necessary instrument for observing the present.

This attention runs through everything we publish: in our publications and in our materials both online and offline. Here the reader will encounter a particular linguistic marker, the schwa (É™), which in Italian serves to limit the use of the generic masculine in favour of a broader, more open form of expression.
