Compassione
by Alexander Mostafa Fazari
A material typically associated with emergencies becomes a work of art: a thermal blanket, a thin golden veil—fragile and salvific at the same time—on which the egiptian artist Alexander Mostafa Fazari engraves a need: that of rediscovering compassion. The artist's hand traces the words of Gibran, Rumi and Ibn Arabi with calligraphic strokes, transforming the golden reflection into a universal message of humanity.

Festival delle culture sommerse
Flashback is pleased to host "Sottotraccia Festival", a series of talks designed to shed light on the work of rediscovering certain unknown yet essential figures in the shaping of contemporary culture. Experts from various cultural disciplines will take part, exploring how the work of recovering the past comes about and takes shape, and how it relates to the present.

The festival is curated by
Ago edizioni, an independent publishing house whose project is centred precisely
on the research and rediscovery of forgotten twentieth-century voices.

Permanent exhibition
Una vita migliore.
Fragments of stories of the Children Institute of the province of Turin.
This exhibition-work aims to give voice once again to the multitude of worlds that intertwined within the rooms of the Corso Lanza site, the former orphanage of Turin, through glimpses into the stories of those who experienced that place firsthand: the children born there, now adults, the caregivers, and the staff of the institution. Curated by artist and artistic director of Flashback Habitat Alessandro Bulgini, it is conceived as a collective and choral artwork in which history, emotions, art, and life are interwoven.

“This project should not be considered an exhibition, but rather an artwork and an act of love.”

At the moment, Una vita migliore is not accessible due to an ongoing new set-up.

Stay tuned!

GAZA OPERA VIVA / OPERA VIVA IL MANIFESTO, STARGATE TO GAZA
A project that continues the practice of artist Alessandro Bulgini, who, with his red “uniform”, becomes a signal, an indicator: a possible connection, a tenuous yet essential link. The author thus becomes – as Giulio Paolini once wrote – the bearer of the work: and the work itself is the context, or rather, the relationship with the context.
